Salt Lake City – Something For Everyone!

Utah might not be an obvious choice for a vacation destination, but don’t miss out. Salt Lake City has so much to offer! It really has everything you could want in a fun, relaxing vacation destination.

Located in northern Utah, Salt Lake City is primarily known for its natural beauty. The city sits in between two mountain ranges to the east and west, and is just south of Great Salt Lake. With the lake, mountains and national forests all around, it is the perfect place to get away and appreciate the beauty and simplicity of nature.

Great Salt Lake is the largest lake between the Great Lakes and the Pacific Ocean, and is a great vacation destination for anyone wanting to get away for a summer break. There are so many activities you can do just at the lake alone. On a sunny summer day, the place to be is on the lake, either boating, waterskiing, fishing, taking a day or evening cruise, or just relaxing on the sand. Oh, and be sure to take in a sunrise or sunset on the beach, they are unbelievable!

We also can’t forget about winter, since it is such a magical time to visit Salt Lake. The snow is falling and the mountains look amazing. If you’re taking a vacation in SLC in the winter, be sure to take advantage of the winter wonderland outside. Some people hit the slopes for a day of snowboarding or skiing, while others enjoy relaxing inside by the fire with some hot cocoa and a good book. There are tons of resorts to choose from, and many offer spa packages as well. No matter what time of the year you visit Salt Lake or what your preferences are, there is something for everyone. And for all these activities, there are rental shops that will rent out boats, jet skis, ski and snowboard equipment, and many even offer lessons.

For a fun day trip, take the kids to the dinosaur museum, which is open year round, exposing them to real dinosaur bones and how the creatures lived millions of years ago. There are many other day trip options that both children and adults will enjoy, such as the Hogle Zoo, which offers a train ride around the animal exhibits, or the Boondocks Fun Center, which has everything from go-karts to miniature golf to batting cages, laser tag and a huge arcade. A car rental in Salt Lake City is all you need to easily get you from one fun adventure to the next.

Salt Lake is well known for its art, history and culture, if you plan to check out a more educational type of attraction. Not only is the city home to unique art galleries, crafts festivals and local artists, but it is home to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly called The Mormon Temple, which is an interesting cultural landmark to experience. Also, the 2002 Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake, and the official Utah Olympic Oval still stands as a community recreational facility where you can go ice skating. Imagine ice skating where the Gold Medal Winners were!

Salt Lake also has a ton of museums. No matter what you are interested in, Salt Lake City has a museum for you. There are many cultural arts and history museums, but also some unique ones as well. Salt Lake even has a planetarium museum, a military museum, a car builder’s museum, an aquarium museum, a children’s museum and a museum of folk art. Literally something for everyone!

For more fine arts entertainment, Salt Lake has a ton of theaters from ballet to opera to dance, music events from popular music concerts to the symphony. It also has Off Broadway plays, musicals, and comedies. It is easy to have an evening out on the town with any of these options.

As you can see, there is way more to do in Salt Lake City than you might have thought. When you are planning your trip, don’t plan on just staying at the resort, be sure to book a Salt Lake Airport car rental, and take advantage of all there is to do in town.

Salt Lake City offers everything that a large city offers, like exciting nightlife, museums and art galleries, fun things to do, but still has that small town feel that allows you to relax and enjoy a peaceful vacation. It’s the ideal trip location, right in the heart of America!
