The Alaska Culture Pass

If you plan on being in or around Anchorage, AK for your next vacation, then you will want to take advantage of a deal we recently discovered called the Alaska Culture Pass. The Alaska Culture Pass costs only $26.00 (according to the Alaska Native Heritage Center website) and gets you into both the Alaska Heritage Center and the Anchorage Museum.

We think that if you are going to make the journey to Alaska, you need to take a day or two to soak in the local culture and customs, and the Alaska Culture Pass does just that! Both of these AK attractions allow you to dig deeper into what Alaska is really all about, so that as you travel about the state, you will be better informed and more appreciative of the beautiful scenery, unique customs of its native people, and local heritage.

So while we recommend that you travel across the great state of Alaska as much as you can in your Alaska RV rental, first spend some time at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and the Anchorage Museum. At these attractions, you can

  • Witness live demonstrations of Native Alaskan artwork and displays of athleticism;
  • Get up close to real mammoth tusks (so close you could almost touch them!);
  • Hear native stories that have been passed down for many years (a deeply ingrained Alaskan custom past and present);
  • Explore historical artifacts from the Gold Rush, the earthquakes that have ripped through parts of AK, and much more;
  • Have a fashion adventure by trying on a pair of Yup’ik sunglasses;
  • And run your fingers through the pelt of a polar bear.

That’s not all you can do at the Anchorage Museum and the Alaska Native Cultural Center, but we don’t want to give it all away! You’ll have to do the rest of the investigative work for yourself as you take advantage of the Alaska Culture Pass.

Because both of these attractions are located in Anchorage, AK, we recommend that you begin your journey in this city. You can easily fly into Anchorage, pick up either your Alaska motorhome rental or Alaska van rental, visit these museums, and then be well on your way for the rest of your Alaskan adventure.

You can purchase the Alaska Culture Pass online or at either of the aforementioned museums. Plus, you just cannot beat that $26.95 price for an adult pass to both centers. Usually, adult admission into the Alaska Native Heritage Center alone usually costs $24.95! The Alaska Culture Pass definitely saves you a lot of money and helps you to appreciate fully your Alaskan journey. Check it out!
