About two and a half times the size of Yellowstone National Park, the Adirondack region of New York has more than 2.7-million state-owned lands that are wild and ready for you to explore. Located in the Northeast part of the Adirondack region, Meadowbrook is a fantastic camping facility with about 62 sites that accommodate either tents or your NY RV rental. Nearby attractions and activities that you might enjoy include hiking for recreation enthusiasts of all ability levels, visiting the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center and Village, and taking a car trip up to the summit of Whiteface Mountain.
Cranberry Lake, one of the biggest remote lakes in the Adirondacks, is a great place to park motorhome rentals in NY. They have 173 total camping sites, many of which are under the cool canopy of the surrounding forests. This area is a great place to relax and enjoy lake life. You can swim, boat, fish for trout, hike almost 50 miles of developed trails, and much more! Cranberry Lake is located in the Northwest portion of the Adirondack region.
If you want to find a great family-oriented campground, then you may want to consider Luzerne in the Southeast Adirondack-Lake George region. This 174-site camping facility is located along Fourth Lake and has many boating, fishing, swimming, and sunbathing opportunities for the entire family. You may also want to take advantage of Luzerne’s Nature Recreation Program, which teaches all ages about the Adirondacks through games, nature walks, and more.
The Southwest Adirondack region has many, many camping facilities, and one of those is the Nicks Lake campground. Next to the Black River Wild Forest, Nicks Lake in another great place to camp if you have a family. In addition to the water activities that some of the other campgrounds have, Nicks Lake also has a great playground for smaller children in addition to places to play volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes. Bicyclists and runners can also enjoy their 3-mile paved trail. Plus, Nicks Lake is a great place to view some of the local wildlife, like the white-tailed deer or lake loons.
