Today we walk you through the town of Wilmington, North Carolina. We have an assortment of great places for you to check out that are off the beaten path so to speak. So sit back and listen as we tell you about great North Carolina vacation ideas.

Our first strop will be Burgwin Wright. This historical home is the oldest museum house in Southeastern North Carolina. With its 18th and early 19th century furnishings, you will appreciate these along with the fine detail that comes from this Georgian-style architecture.

At the Burgwin Wright House:

The Burgwin Wright home is open to the public for touring. Visit in your NC RV rental Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your tour will walk you through the home and give you an interesting history lesson on this home and the people who lived here many years ago. Be sure to tour the gardens, as the original structures like the walls, paths, steps, and gates have been carefully retained.

Next stop is the USS North Carolina. This battleship was used during World War II and helped many Americans serve their country. You’ll be able to talk with the crew for historical lessons, photographs, and mementos and learn through various exhibits.

The USS North Carolina is open for touring every day of the year. Hours do vary according to the season. Tickets are $12.00 for adults (those 12 and over) and $6 for children ages 6-11. We hope you take time on your NC trip to see what was once called one of the world’s greatest sea weapons.

For delicious dining along the water, visit Wilmington’s The Pilot House with your North Carolina RV rental. The wharf has been a busy port for many decades as it was important for locals in regards to shipbuilding and other needed products.

The Pilot House has both indoor seating and outdoor seating for views of Cape Fear River. Menu selections include: chicken prosciutto, cider pepper-glazed pork chops, crabcakes, catfish, shrimp, filet mignon, and many fresh catch choices. We think you will equally enjoy the view and great food.

And you can’t forget about Wrightsville Beach. When you cross the bridge over to Wrightsville Beach get ready for fun in the sun as you try fishing, paddle boarding, shelling, and walking along the beach. You’ll find ocean view lodging, shopping, and dining here at Wrightsville Beach.

Enjoy your NC stay and feel free to ask us questions regarding information you wish to know!
